(From Parker Mortuary)Jim Dick, 81, of Carl Junction, MO, went to his heavenly home on Thursday, Feb. 9th, 2023. He was a beloved husband, father, papa, & faithful Christian who loved the Lord, his church & community.
Born on Aug. 14th, 1941 in Alluwe, OK to Virgil & Lizzie Dick, raised in Chelsea, OK. He worked as a welder, truck driver & owner/operator of Babe’s Drive-In in Carl Junction.
His devotion to church and community was evident in his service as a council member, mayor and volunteer fireman for the Carl Junction Fire Department. He also proudly served in the army from 1966 – 1968.
Jim truly had a compassionate heart for people, especially children. He would lend a helping hand to anyone in need. Serving with his church (Servant’s Church) in the children’s dept. He was known as “Mr. Not-So-Bright”, a person that was a little confused about the Bible Stories. “The Candyman” was another name given to Jim by the church children for his pockets were always full of candy for them. Being the jokester he was, Jim was famous for playing tricks on everyone. His fun-loving spirit & giving heart made him someone very special who will be greatly missed.
Jim is preceded in death by his parents Virgil & Lizzie Dick and a brother Jerry Dick.
Jim leaves behind his beloved wife of 48 years, Linda (England) Dick; three children, Melissa Bennett (Jeff), Brian Dick, and Jaime Jones (Cory); sister-in-laws, Karen Elder (Mike) and Lana Kraus (Jim); one granddaughter, Madison “Maddy” Bennett; plus nieces, nephews, and many cousins.
