Toby Cruz

Felix Tobias "Toby" Cruz, age 69, passed away on Tuesday, February 14, 2023, at his home in Sarcoxie, MO. He was born in Ulysses, KS on Sunday, December 13, 1953; son of David and Connie (Garcia) Cruz. He was a 1972 graduate of Satanta High School and a 1974 graduate of Liberal, KS Vo Tech as a Master Mechanic. 

He married Cynthia "Cindy" Bromlow and they have been together 42 years. 

Mr. Cruz was passionate about cars. He worked at O'Reilly's Automotive in Carthage for many years. Mr. Cruz enjoyed riding horses, roping, hunting deer, and fishing. He loved spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren. He was an OU football fan- GO SOONERS! Mr. Cruz was a member of Shoal Creek Revival church.

Surviving are the following: his wife, Cindy of Sarcoxie, MO; two sons, Tim (Audra) Cruz of Pierce City, MO and David Cruz of Sarcoxie, MO; one daughter, Darcy (Randall) Willms of Pierce City, MO; two brothers, Alex (Milda) Cruz of Broken Arrow, OK and JoJo (Becca) Cruz of Farmington, AR; two sisters, Irene Heger of Flagler, CO and Sylvia (Hershel) Ward of Bella Vista, AR; an ex-wife, Denise Cooksey of Pierce City, MO; several nieces and nephews; and many friends.

Those welcoming him to heaven include his parents, David and Connie Cruz, and a sister, Mary Elizabeth Cruz.

A Celebration of Life will be at Lakin Funeral Home in Pierce City, MO on Friday, February 17, 2023, beginning at 2:00 PM with Pastor Jared Jackson officiating. A private family burial will be at a later date. Arrangements are under the personal care and direction of Lakin Funeral Home in Pierce City, MO.
