Sandra Friend

(From Mason-Woodard Mortuary)

Sandra Friend age 49 of Joplin Missouri passed away February 8, 2023 at Kansas City hospice from a courageous battle with cancer.

She was born May 29, 1973 in Neosho, Missouri to Alan and Mary Ann (Testerman) Skelton.

She was preceded in death by her father and grandparents.

Sandra is survived by her parents, Larry and MaryAnn Neff, two sons; David Friend and Holden Marks and two daughters Tina Friend and Taylor Marks, five grandchildren; Lily Randall, Chloe Randall, Macy Randall, Evander Friend, and Juniper Friend

Sandra worked at Mid America, GMM and later she was self-employed as a delivery driver for Walmart.

Sandra was always on the go just like her grandpa Testerman.

She loved looking for treasures at the local thrift and antique malls, where she was known on a first name basis with a lot of them. When she would go in, they would even tell her to go back and look at the new stuff that just came in.

She also loved a good streaming series, and you could count on her to give you her opinion as to what to watch.

She loved the outdoors kayaking, looking for unique rocks and exploring old abandoned houses.

She loved her weekend, getaways with her daughter, sister and niece, where they would do some horseback riding, kayaking and hiking and not to Forget to look for unique rocks.

Her favorite holiday was Christmas and the yearly shopping get away with her mom and two sisters.

She loved her daily calls with her kids and always made a call to her mom every morning unless she wasn’t feeling good.

She was a loving, caring and fun, mom, sister, grandma and daughter. She’ll always be remembered for that.

She was deeply loved by all of us all and will be greatly missed, but to know that she’s in the arms of Jesus gives us comfort.

Funeral services will be 10:00 am Saturday February 18. 2023 at Mason-Woodard Mortuary with Shane Munn officiating. Burial will follow at Banner Cemetery. The family will receive friends 6:00 – 7:00 pm Friday at the mortuary.
