(From Parker Mortuary)David Lee Jones, age 66, of Joplin, passed away on Sunday, February 19, 2023 at his home.
David, son of the late Mose and Sylvia (Pequignot) Jones, was born on December 28, 1956, in Joplin. He grew up and attended school in Carl Junction graduating from Carl Junction High School with the Class of 1975. He then completed the Missouri Southern Police Academy program.
David was then employed with the Jasper County Juvenile Center for 18 years and with the Newton County Sheriff’s Department as a weekend Juvenile Officer.
Survivors include his son, Jeff Jones, of Joplin; siblings, Alfred Jones, and his wife, Linda, of Joplin, Larry Jones, of Carl Junction, Ruth Crockett, of Joplin, Janice Marquardt, of Joplin, Norma Koon, of Joplin, Alice Ellis, and her husband, Herman, of Joplin, Helen Landes, and husband, Carl, of Carl Junction, Delores Jackson, and her husband, Ralph, of Springdale, Linda Jones, of Hampton, VA, and Marilyn Whitker, of Lawton, OK; five grandchildren; one great grandchild; and numerous nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, David was preceded in death by three siblings, Robert Jones, Richard Jones, and Margaret Jones.

Memorial services will be held on Tuesday, February 28, 2023 at 6:00 PM at Parker Mortuary in Joplin with visitation to follow.
Arrangements are under the personal care and direction of Parker Mortuary, Joplin.
