Lavilla Sherman

Lavilla Darlene Sherman, 85, of Noel, Missouri, departed this life on Friday evening, February 17, 2023, in the comfort of her home after months of declining health.

Lavilla entered this life on January 14, 1938, in Fairview, Oklahoma, the only daughter of the late Phillip and Ruth (Baker) Eberley. She was raised and attended school in Wichita, Kansas. 

 








On April 28, 1956, in Wichita, she was united in marriage to Harold Wayne Sherman and to this union six children were born. They resided in Wichita until moving to Noel, Missouri, in 1964. Besides being a devoted homemaker, Lavilla also worked diligently alongside her husband on their family farm raising chickens and beef cattle. She cherished time spent with her family and was a talented seamstress and quilt maker. She was a longtime faithful member of Lanagan First Baptist Church.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband of sixty-five years, Harold Wayne Sherman on February 15, 2022; and two sons, Kevin and Wayne Sherman.

Lavilla is survived by a daughter, Kimberly Manley and husband, Travis, of Noel; three sons, Mark Sherman and wife, Terri, of Noel, Michael Sherman of Anderson and Bryon Sherman and wife, Sharon, also of Noel; two daughter-in-laws, Crystal Sherman of Anderson and Viola Sherman of Noel; seventeen grandchildren; twenty-six great grandchildren; three brothers, Phillip Eberley and wife, Sue, of Noel, Gerald Eberley and wife, Wilma, of Siloam Springs, Arkansas and Gary Eberley and wife, Jody, of Noel; as well as a host of other family and friends.

Funeral services are 10:00 a.m. Thursday, February 23, 2023 in the Anderson Chapel of the Ozark Funeral Homes with Bro. Earl Willoughby and Travis Manley officiating. Burial will follow in Brush Creek Cemetery. 








Those honoring her life by serving as pallbearers are Jeremy Sherman, Kevin Sherman, Bryon Sherman, II, Robert Sherman, Kyle Sherman, Keifer Sherman, Caleb Manley and Jacob Manley. 

The family will receive friends on Wednesday evening from 5-7:00 p.m. in the funeral home chapel. Memorials are being directed to Lanagan First Baptist Church c/o the funeral home. On-line condolences may be sent to the family through our website, www.ozarkfuneralhome.com.
