(From Ulmer Funeral Home)Joyce Irene Hamilton, 75, passed away Sunday, February 12, 2023, in Joplin, Missouri. Joyce was born October 31, 1947, to Bobbie Elie Lee and Ethel Irene Howell in Carthage, Missouri. She was a longtime resident of Jasper, Missouri.
Joyce worked at St. Luke’s Nursing Center, in Carthage, for seventeen years. She retired in 2009 from Jasper Popcorn Plant, in Joplin, after seventeen years. Joyce loved her kids and especially loved her grandkids.
Joyce was united in marriage to Murrell Hamilton February 26, 1966, in Carthage; he survives.
Joyce is survived by her husband, Murrell Hamilton; a son, Jeff Hamilton and his wife, Gail of Lamar, Missouri; a daughter, Janett Porter and her husband, Rob of Springdale, Arkansas; two brothers, Ronnie Lee and his wife, Francine of Carthage and Donald Lee of Jasper; a sister, Mary Foster and her husband, Alan of Emmett, Kansas; three grandchildren, Marissa Acevedo, Ricky “Daylan” Leivan, and Kaitlin Hamilton; and one great grandchild, Elsie Irene Acevedo.
Joyce is preceded in death by her parents, Bobbie (December 19, 2022) and Ethel Lee (October 22, 2022); and one brother, Bobby Lynn Lee (September 08, 2008).
Services will be held 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, February 21, 2023, at Ulmer Funeral Home. A visitation will be held from 6:00 to 7:00 p.m. Monday, February 20, 2023.
