Shirley LaRue Meadows (Reneau), 90 of Pineville, Missouri departed this life on Monday, February 6th, 2023 at her residence with her loving family by her side.
Shirley entered this world on December 30th 1932, to the late Ada Dewitt and Perry Reneau in Manchester, Oklahoma. She was the eldest of four children; Faye Reneau, Rhonda (Dewitt) Cohn and the late Max Reneau.
Shirley was married for 27 years to the late Lee Meadows and is survived by her 6 children, Rita Nakata, Kim Montague, Carla Gagne, Robin Nakata, Max Meadows, Eric Meadows, and dozens of grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Shirley was a long-time resident of Pineville, Missouri, but in her early life she was a dedicated mother and homemaker in Southern California. During this time, she spent her days making homemade costumes for all her children, being a Brownie Troop mom, and a talented photographer. Shirley was a valued member of the Pasadena Parade of Roses where she decorated the floral floats.

She enjoyed spending time and teaching her children and grandchildren how to paint windows, bake, garden and many other countless skills and crafts. She enjoyed road trips across the country and sightseeing with her loved ones. You could always find Shirley behind the lens of a camera, documenting her many adventures.
Shirley spent her later years in Pineville, Missouri, near her beloved mother Ada Dewitt, where she enjoyed many hobbies, such as cryptograms, gardening, canning and genealogy. Shirley will be remembered for her unique personality. She was lifelong fan of fan of sci-fi and considered herself a “treky”. Shirley loved opera, and a wide variety of different styles of music. She was always reading and was a lifelong learner. She will always be remembered and loved so much by all six of her children and many more.
Shirley will be laid to rest at the Pineville Cemetery, in Pineville, Missouri. In honor of her wishes there will be a graveside memorial at 2:00 PM. on Friday, February 17th, 2023. Those honoring her life by serving as pallbearer are: Max Meadows, Eric Meadows, Joshua Meadows, Robert Nakata, Chuck Cohn, Allen Morgan, Chad McCord, John Bradley, and Fredric Wright. If in attendance, please feel free to wear red in remembrance of Shirley's favorite color.
