Murriell DeFratus

Murriell June DeFratus, age 76, of Stockton, Missouri passed away Thursday, February 16, 2023.

Murriell was born March 1,1946 in Denison, Texas to James Waterson Cook and Dellia Gertrude (Prator) Berryhill. On June 1,1960, Murriell married William "Billy" Levern DeFratus, he preceded her in death.

Murriell worked as a cook at Lamar Middle School and retired from Wal-Mart after 15 years.

Survivors include two sons, Kenny (Tina) DeFratus of Jerico Springs, Missouri and Mitch (Hether) DeFratus of Frenchville, Maine; two daughters, Sonnie (Tiger) Probert of Golden City, Missouri and Mona DeFratus (Charlie Cass) of Cape Fair, Missouri; 12 grandchildren; Chad (Liz) Enochs, Broc Probert, Gavin (Kelli) Enochs, Bryce (Allison) Probert, Miranda Harring, Bailey Bessendorfer, Heather (John) Bishop, Whitney (Jake) Neidigh, Macy (Desiree) McDonald, Allie Wedgeworth, Shelby DeFratus, and Preston DeFratus; 22 great-grandchildren and one sister, Brenda (Willie) Duncan of Stockton, Missouri.

Murriell was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Bill DeFratus and one brother, Roger Cook.

Graveside services will be held at 2:00 p.m.,Tuesday, Feb ruary 21, 2023, at Pippenger Cemetery in Lockwood, Missouri.

The family will receive friends from 6:00 to 7:00 p.m., Monday, February 20, 2023 at Daniel Funeral Home.
