Floyd Cox

Floyd Ray Cox of Quapaw, OK passed from this life Thursday, February 23, 2023 at his home. He was 89.

Floyd was born October 1, 1933 in Tulsa, OK to William Earl and Lula Edith (Martin) Cox. He had lived in the Quapaw area for 30 years moving from Joplin, MO. 

He had worked for Tulsa Paper Company in Tulsa, OK and Joe Harding Restaurant Supplies in Joplin, MO. 









Floyd was a member of Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses in Baxter Springs, KS. Floyd was a minister and Elder for many decades. For the past 30 years he served in the Baxter Springs Congregation of Jehovah’s Witnesses

Floyd was preceded in death by his parents, 1 brother, Jim Cox and 1 sister, Lorene Nelson.








Survivors include his wife Nancy Jane (Weatherington) Cox of the home, 2 sons, Stephen Cox and wife Denise of Joplin, MO and David Cox of Springfield, MO, 2 daughters, Kathy Degollado and husband Juan of Quapaw, OK and Staci Edwards and husband David of Joplin, MO, 13 grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren.

Memorial Services will be 2:00 p.m. Saturday, March 4, 2023 at the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses in Baxter Springs, KS with Wesley Makela officiating.
