(From Morgan and Nay Funeral Centres)

Donna Drossart, age 89, of Joplin, MO passed away February 8, 2023. She was born January 19, 1934 in Sturgis, MI to Donald and Lela (Martin) McIntyre.

Preceding in death was her beloved husband of 25 years, John Drossart, and son, Ray Drossart.

She is survived by daughter, Terri (Chris) Hoogeveen of Las Vegas, NV and son, Steve (Stephanie) Drossart of Hanover, IN. She was loved by her dear grandchildren Brittany (Jonah) Sullivan, Steve (Monica) Drossart Jr., Conor Hoogeveen, Mac Hoogeveen, Alexandria (Austin) Bruce, and Joseph Drossart and great grandchildren Brooklynn and Ben Sullivan.

Donna grew up in Bronson, MI. Her family gas station was the center of all activity. Her childhood was an idyllic time in her life, which she recalled fondly. She graduated from Bronson High School in 1952, where she was known for her fun loving personality. She attended Western Michigan University but was a huge University of Michigan fan and made that known cheering “Go Blue” wherever she went. After graduating with a degree, she began working in Washington D.C. with the Navy Department. After meeting the love of her life, she raised her family in Plymouth, MI and Dyer, IN where lifelong friends were made.

Upon retirement she moved to Joplin, MO where she was a faithful member of St. Paul’s United Methodist Church. She was devoted to serving on the kitchen team. She was a lifelong member of the Beta Sigma Phi Sorority.

She was an avid walker, a member of the Dogwood Trailblazers AVA Walking Group. One of her personal achievements was walking all 50 states and capitals. She loved to travel the world and made friends wherever she went. She enjoyed a good Manhattan, watching football, playing games, and being surrounded by family and friends.
