(From Parker Mortuary)Mr. Douglas Alan “Doug” Hodges, 51, of Joplin, Missouri, departed this life suddenly on Sunday, February 19, 2023, in the comfort of his home after suffering a massive heart attack.
Doug entered this life on February 15, 1972, in Joplin, Missouri, the youngest of two sons born to the union of the late Kenneth and Judith (Burk) Hodges. He was a lifelong resident of Joplin and a 1990 graduate of Joplin High School. He furthered his education by attending MSSC in Joplin.
He worked for a period of time at the Book Barn, the Joplin Post Office, was a delivery driver for FedEx and was former co-owner of Play It Again Sports. Doug centered his life around his two children, Eli and Chloe, who he loved deeply. He enjoyed traveling and was an avid sports enthusiast.
His parents and a niece, Nicole Lynn Hodges, preceded him in death.

Doug is survived by his twin children, Eli and Chloe Hodges; a brother, David Hodges and wife, Lynn, of Joplin; as well as a host of other family and numerous friends.
A memorial service will be held on Friday, March 3, 2023 at 2:00 p.m. in the Chapel of Parker Mortuary with Barry Sanborn officiating. Burial will follow at Forest Park Cemetery in Joplin. Arrangements have been entrusted to Parker Mortuary in Joplin, Missouri.
