(From Campbell-Biddlecome Funeral Home)Douglas G. Dawson, 78, Fairland, OK, passed into eternal rest February 6, 2023 at Integris Miami Hospital in Miami, OK.
Douglas Gene Dawson was born December 17 1944 in Coleman, TX the son of Elmer and Claira (Dooley) Dawson. Doug was a graduate of the Alvin Texas High School and went on to college to earn his Bachelor's Degree.
Doug was a minister for over 45 years and he loved teaching the word of God. He loved hunting, fishing, training horses and shoeing them. Doug was a faithful man of God and shared the good news of the gospel throughout his life. He will be missed here on earth but he now is earned his heavenly reward.
Douglas Gene Dawson married Sonja Moffett May 11, 1973 in Rosenberg Tx and she survives.
Additional survivors include sons Ty Dawson and wife Julie, Seneca, MO, Doug Greathouse, Santa Fe, Tx, Steven Dawson and wife Nicole, Montrose, CO, Andrew Dawson and wife Ashleigh, Fruita, CO and Caleb Dawson and wife Alyssa, Canyon, TX; one sister, Wanda Stephenson, Montgomery, TX; six grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
Doug was preceded in death by his parents and one sister Margaret Wimberly.
The body has been taken for cremation under the personal direction of Campbell-Biddlecome Funeral Home Seneca, MO. The family will hold a celebration of life memorial service at 11:00 am, February 20, 2023 at Bethel Baptist Church.
