(From Greenfield Funeral Chapel)Cordia Belle Kathan, of Greenfield, MO, departed this life on Friday, February 17, 2023, at the Good Shepherd Community Care and Rehabilitation Facility in Lockwood, MO at the age of 93.
She was born on January 16, 1930 in Cedar County, MO to Clifford and Eula Gwen (Jones) Bishop. She worked at Zenith Electronics for 26 years.
Belle was united in marriage to Robert H. Kathan on June 9, 2001 in Greenfield, MO.
Preceding her in death were her parents, Clifford and Eula Bishop; the father of her children, William “Bill” Shirk; her husband, Robert “Bob” Kathan; two brothers, Bob Bishop and Charles Bishop; two sisters, Barbara Gladden and Carolyn White; and two brothers-in-law, Paul Clabough and Howard Gladden.
Survivors include her partner, Bob Martens; her son, Dennis Shirk and wife Lois, grandchildren – Jerold Shirk, Terry Shirk and wife Kristen, Nathan Shirk, and Carol Duncan and husband Adam; her daughter, Sandy Lowrance and husband Elmer, grandchild – Robert Lowrance; her son, James Shirk and partner Rosea Holder, grandchildren – Bayley Spain and husband Trevor, and Layken Shirk and fiancĂ© Carson Gregg; her daughter, Linda Shirk and partner Dale Booth; eight great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; one brother, Donnie Bishop; two sisters, Leona Clabough and Judy Mitchell and husband Butch; one brother-in-law, Bob White; one sister-in-law, Marge Bishop; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, February 25, 2023, at Greenfield Funeral Chapel. Burial will follow in Greenfield Cemetery. Friends are welcome to pay their respects at their convenience on Friday from 12:00 noon to 5:00 p.m. in the funeral chapel.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Good Shepherd Community Care and Rehabilitation Facility, Gentiva Hospice, or to the Freewill Baptist International Missions for Carol and Adam Duncan who are stationed in Ecuador.
Services are under the care of Greenfield Funeral Chapel.
