(From Clark Funeral Home)Lewis E. Cole was born on November 13, 1930, in the Christopher Community of Newton County, Missouri, one of two sons to Lloyd E. and Julia M. (Paschall) Cole. He entered into rest on February 10, 2023, in Neosho, Missouri, at the age of 92. Lewis was a lifelong area resident and a graduate of the Neosho High School, class of 1949.
He attended Joplin Junior College and, in 1951, entered the Air Force. Lewis proudly served his country from 1951 until October 30, 1955, when he was honorably discharged.
He worked at Rocketdyne and then at La-Z-Boy Midwest as human resource director until his retirement. Lewis gave his time to his community, serving on the R-5 School Board, volunteering in the community, and was honored with the Exchange Club's Book of Golden Deeds award for his many services to the community. He was a member of the Neosho United Methodist Church, where he served on various committees, was a member of the United Methodist Men, and for many years, mowed and took care of the Christian Life Center.
On September 29, 1956, in Neosho, Missouri, Lewis and Mary Lea (Bridges) were united in marriage, and she preceded him in death on March 16, 2022.
Lewis is survived by two daughters, Lisa Cole of Neosho and Kara Beth Lowry, and husband, Brian of Joplin; grandchildren, Mollee Beth (Zane) Culp, Adam Cole, Cole Lowry, Collin Lowry, and Claire Lowry; four great-grandchildren, Trenton, Hadyn, Trace and Liam and one due to arrive in March. In addition to his wife, Lewis is preceded in death by his son, Jeff, and brother Michael.

Services will be held on Wednesday, February 15, 2023, at 1:00 pm at the Neosho United Methodist Church downtown facility; Pastor Trey Laveroni will officiate. Interment and military honors will follow at the Hazelgreen Cemetery, where Lewis will be laid to rest by his wife and son. Those honoring Lewis as pallbearers will be Brian Lowry, Collin Lowry, Cole Lowry, Zane Culp, and John Mills. Honorary pallbearers include Adam Cole, Roy Cochran, Ken Trenary, Ken Kendall, and Bennie Moore.
