(From Daniel Funeral Home)Alice "Juanita" Johnson, age 88, of Lamar, Missouri passed away Tuesday, February 7th, 2023, at Mercy Hospital in Joplin, Missouri
Juanita was born March 4, 1934 in Richland, Georgia to James Alvin Huddleston and Annie Pearl (Broughton) Huddleston. She attended Richland High School.
At the age of 20, she moved to Florida, then to Chicago, Illinois and then on to Los Angeles, California. In 1963, she moved back to Lamar.
On December 24, 1971, Alice married Walter David Johnson in Lamar, MO.
Juanita had worked in restaurants, O'Sullivan Industries, as an Auction Clerk and Cashier, and was a partner with her husband in Johnson Hardware Store.
Survivors include sons, Alan (Trudy) Chaput, of Walnut Grove, Missouri and Daniel Mankey, of Lamar, MO; daughters, Roseann (Steve) Dalton, of Springfield, Missouri, Susan Asbell, of Jasper, Missouri and Yvonne Boyd, of Lamar, MO; 17 grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren and a brother, John Huddleston of Chesapeake Bay, Virginia.
Juanita was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Walter Johnson; two daughters, Joy Clocke and Rebecca Jean Smith; one son, James Henry Mankey and son-in-law, Brent Asbell.
A private family service and burial will be held
