(From Ulmer Funeral Home)Linda Kay Meister, 74, of Carthage, Missouri, passed away Friday, February 17, 2023, in Joplin, Missouri. Linda was born March 11, 1948, in Carthage to John David Stirewalt, Jr. and Erlynne Chrisman. She was a longtime resident of the Carthage area.
Linda worked at the former McCune-Brooks Hospital for over 30 years. She also worked at Meister Lawn Care and was a member of Blake Baptist Church in La Russell, Missouri.
Linda enjoyed her grandkids and loved being called “Grandma”. She also looked forward to family time together and cooking for her family.
Linda was united in marriage to Lustford “Buck” Meister April 12, 1963, at Bykota Baptist Church in Carthage; he preceded her in death August 28, 2021.
Linda is survived by one son, Timothy Meister (Mahriya) of Carterville, Missouri; two daughters, Marcella Meister-Barlow (Steve) of Carthage, and Shawntrell Boyer of Pittsburg, Kansas; one brother, John Stirewalt of La Russell/Red Oak, Missouri; two sisters, Vera Maggard of Arcola, Missouri and Pat Lawyer of Sarcoxie, Missouri; sixteen grandchildren, Tanya, Bridget, Brooke, Clinton, David, Gennie, Nicklas, Jessica, Levi, Taven, Maseasha, Xach, H’ven, Zetthew, Dablaythyn, and Jacob; nineteen great grandchildren, Jade, Shelbee, Karly, Addison, Kaden, Brylee, Jaxon, Katlin, Khloe, Kyleigh, Damien, Dominic, Keegan, Jordan, Atticus, Little Ty, Izakaiya, Remington, and Zendaya; and two great great grandchildren, Einsley and JayDee.
Linda is preceded in death her husband, Buck Meister; one son, Vernal David Meister on August 14, 1988; and her parents, John and Erlynne Stirewalt.
Graveside services will be held 2:00 p.m. Friday, February 24, 2023, at Red Oak Cemetery in Red Oak, Missouri. Visitation will be held from 12:30 to 1:30 p.m. Friday, February 24, 2023, at Ulmer Funeral Home.
