Robert T. Cowen, age 84, of Joplin, Mo. passed away at 2:40 p.m. Monday, December 5, 2016 at his home. Bob was born July 12, 1932 in Joplin. He was raised in Webb City and graduated from Webb City High School. He was employed as the Manager of Aero Body Shop with Tri-State Motor Transit, and later worked at Able Body Co. for 10 years, retiring in 1994. Bob was an Army veteran of the Korean War. He was a member of Frisco Church of Webb City. Bob and his wife enjoyed traveling with camping and R.V. Clubs.
Bob married Jean Turner April 19, 1980 in Joplin and she survives. Additional survivors include two daughters, Kimberly Jones, Joplin, and Karen Turner, Coffeyville, Ks. two sons, Robert G. Cowen, Newport Richey, Fl., and Jody Turner and wife Jacque, Baxter Springs, Ks., one brother, Tom Cowen and wife Fern, Joplin, two sisters, Linda Jones, Joplin, and Barbara Pendley and husband Charles, Plano, Tx., 14 grandchildren, and 22 great grandchildren. Bob was preceded in death by two sons, Jack and John Turner, and two brothers, Dewey and William Cowen.
Memorial services with Military Honors will be at 10:30 a.m. Monday at the Frisco Church in Webb City with Rev. Matt Snyder officiating. Visitation will follow the service at the Church. Memorial contributions are requested to Frisco Church of Webb City in care of the Mortuary. Arrangements have been entrusted to the Mason-Woodard Mortuary and Crematory of Joplin, Mo.
