Betty Budd

Betty Louise Budd, formerly of Jasper, was born January 22, 1932 to Thomas Jefferson Brown & Edna Zelia Currier, in Carl Junction, MO. She was the 4th of 9 children, as a youth was baptized a Christian. When she was a teenager she came to Jasper to work at Judy's Cafe & on Dec 7th, 1950 she married Merle Rex "Buck" Budd & to this union five children were born, Merle Rex Budd, Jr (Rita), Neosho, MO, Phillip C. Budd, Jasper, Violet Kollmeyer (Murl), Greenfield, MO, Kay Budd(Larry), Jasper, & Hope Budd of Arkansas. Her surviving siblings are Riley Brown, Carl Junction, MO, Eva Jean of Wichita, KS, Molly Ann & Maritta Pearl.

She was an avid quilter, loved trying new craft projects & also enjoyed fishing, gardening, canning but most of all she enjoyed her family & time spent around her kitchen table with them. She was well known for her cinnamon rolls & dinner rolls with chicken & noodles. She retired from Big Smith where she was a seamstress.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, son Phillip, two brothers Neil & Thomas Jr, & two sisters Marie & Ella Mae.

Graveside services will be Monday, April 23, 2018 at 2:00 P.M. in Waters Cemetery, northwest of Jasper. In lieu of flowers her request would be to make a donation to the Alzheimers Foundation or the Good Shepherd Nursing Home in care of the funeral home.
