Gerald R. Kissinger, 83, Carthage, MO, passed away Saturday, April 7, 2018 at Mercy Hospital, Joplin, MO. Gerald (Jerry) Ray Kissinger was born September 3, 1934 in Los Angeles, CA to the late William Kissinger and Anna (Flackman) Kissinger. He graduated from Santa Monica High School, Class of 1952. He worked as a supervisor for Verizon phone company. Jerry met and married the love of his life, Mary Lynne Woods on August 12, 1956 in Tijuana, Mexico; she survives.
Survivors include his wife, two daughters, Kathleen Marie Alsdurf (Jerry), Carthage, MO, and Carol Ann Aker (Robert), Chino, CA; one brother, Roy Hunt (Sue), Tehachapi, CA; two grandchildren, Todd Francis, Upland, CA, and Robby Aker (fiancée Lacey), Carthage, MO; and one great grandchild, Kodi Francis.
He was preceded in death by his parents, and one sister, Caroleen Almon.
Jerry loved camping and fishing in his younger years. He enjoyed the outdoors, driving the backroads and spending time with his family. Jerry had a great sense of humor and a bright smile that everyone loved. He will be missed dearly, but our memories of him will forever be in our hearts.
