Mildred N. 'Sally' Betterton, age 93, passed away at 2:47 a.m. Wednesday, April 11, 2018 at Communities of Wildwood Ranch.
Sally was born October 31, 1924 in North Platte, Nebraska to the late Daniel David Watkins and Molly Bell Goode Watkins and had lived in the Baxter Springs, Kansas and Joplin areas most of her life.
A homemaker, she was a former member of Blendville Christian Church and enjoyed dancing outings with her husband. Sally was a devoted wife and mother and showed unconditional love to her grandchildren and great grandchildren. She will be missed by all who knew her.
Sally married Ernest Betterton, Jr. on April 5, 1946 in Columbus, Kansas. He preceded her in death on October 31, 2014.
She was also preceded in death by a son, Ernest Craig Betterton.
Sally is survived by a son, Scott Betterton, Joplin; a daughter, Eva Temczuk and her husband, Craig. Omaha, Nebraska; grandchildren, Paula Nelson and husband, Shawn, Tracy Case and husband, Chad, Justin Betterton and wife, Anne, Carrie Jones and husband, Taylor; and great grandchildren, Alexis, Connor, Hailee, Wyatt, Emilee, Mikah, Isabella, Hunter and Boen.
Graveside services are planned for Friday at 1:00 p.m. at Osborne Memorial Cemetery. Randy Coleman will officiate.
Arrangements are under the direction of Parker Mortuary.
