Darlene May Anderson was born on February 6, 1939, in Tacoma, WA, and went home on April 10, 2018.
The daughter of Esther May (Frohmader) and William Wendell Cook, she married the love of her life for 57 years, 10 months and 19 days, James G. Anderson, at Gary, IN, on May 22, 1960. As a military wife, Darlene followed Jim to his assignments in Germany (twice), Texas (3 times), California and Maryland. She said she learned ‘whatever state she was in to be content’. (Phil 4:11) She worked as secretary for doctors’ offices, ward secretary for hospitals and nursing homes, and was manager of a supplemental health care agency in Tacoma, WA, recruiting, hiring, and supplying RNs, LPNs, home health aides, and chore workers for hospitals, nursing homes, and doctors’ offices. She was also a church secretary.
Services will be held on Sat., April 14, 2018 at 10 am at Clark Funeral Home, Neosho, with Pastor Tom Cassady, II officiating and Interment will follow at Mount Hope Cemetery, Webb City, MO. The family will receive friends Friday evening from 5 to 6 pm at the Clark Funeral Home, Neosho.
In lieu of flowers, Darlene requested contributions be made to the Gideons International for placement of Scriptures around the world that others may come to know Christ as Savior, or to Sweetwater Baptist Church, c/o Clark Funeral Home, PO Box 66, Neosho, MO 64850.
