Orpha Mae Owens, 99, Neosho, entered into rest on April 15, 2018 at Medicalodge in Neosho, following an extended illness.
Orpha was born April 17, 1918 in Neosho, the daughter of George W. and Orpha Nancy Ann (Murray) Clark. She was a lifelong area resident and had co-owned and operated C and M Egg Farm with her husband, Clyde and then owned a ceramic shop. She enjoyed doing ceramics, going to flea markets and collecting various items. She was a member of the Belfast Baptist Church. Orpha married Clyde B. Owens on July 21, 1936 and he preceded her in death on Sept. 13, 1978.
She is survived by two daughters, Dolores M. Jeffery of Neosho and Geraldine Williams of Garland, TX; seven grandchildren, Clyde Jeffery of Neosho; Janice Laird of Huntsville, AR; Patricia Harris of Hector, AR; Carolyn Heflin of Dover, AR; Jimmy Wheeler of Rogers; Brenda Hartline of Garland, TX and Connie Williams of Neosho and numerous great grandchildren and great great grandchildren. In addition to her husband and parents, she is preceded in death by a daughter, Hazel Wheeler, seven siblings, a grandson, Bill Williams and a great granddaughter, Belinda Littrell.
Services will be Thursday, April 19, 2018 at 10 am at the Clark Funeral Home Chapel of Memories, Dr. Jerry Seigel will officiate. Interment will be in the Gibson Cemetery and family will serve as pallbearers. The family will receive friends Wed. evening from 5 to 6 pm at the funeral home.
