Wayne William Wendt, age 54, Joplin, passed away at his home Saturday, April 21, 2018. He was born on December 30, 1963 in Grand Island, Nebraska, the son of Wesley W. and Catherine R. Wendt. Wayne graduated from Mattoon, Illinois High School in 1982 and after graduation moved to Joplin to help establish and grow American Snack Products, Inc. with his father where he worked for 35 years.
Wayne was a hard worker, loved the outdoors, animals and most of all his son and family. He is survived by his son, Weston W. Wendt; parents Wes and Cathy Wendt; sister, Wendy K. Belden and her husband David K. Clemons and nephew, Alec Belden.
A Memorial Mass will be held Thursday, April 28, 2018 at 10:30 a.m. in St. Peter the Apostle Catholic Church, with Reverend J. Friedel, celebrant. According to Wayne’s wishes, his body will be cremated.
In lieu of flowers, please consider a memorial donation to the Joplin Humane Society or St. Peter the Apostle Catholic Church in care of Parker Mortuary.
