Mrs. Norma Jane “Nan” Blecha, 90, of Southwest City, Missouri, departed this life on Sunday, April 8, 2018, at Integris Grove Hospital in Grove, Oklahoma, after a recent decline in health.
Jane entered this life on November 21, 1927, in rural Delaware County Oklahoma, daughter of the late Eual Clay and Susan Marie (Perry) Smith. She was a 1945, graduate of Southwest City High School. After graduating she worked at Camp Crowder as a clerk typist and Montgomery Ward as a bookkeeper. On July 29, 1948, in Joplin, Missouri, she was united in marriage to Carson Cody Blecha and to this union two sons were born. Jane was a homemaker and helpmate to her husband in the operation of their family farm, raising cattle, hogs, laying hens as well as grain farming. She was a longtime active member of the Southwest City United Methodist Church, the Dodge Club, charter member of the American Legion Ladies Auxiliary and an election judge for well over fifty years.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband of fifty-seven years, Carson Blecha on June 27, 2006; and a brother, Bud Smith.
Jane is survived by her two sons, Mike Blecha and wife, Pam, of Grove, Oklahoma and Kevin Blecha and wife, Vicki, of Anderson; two grandchildren, Kedron Blecha and wife, Lynette, of Springfield, Missouri and Marsi Anderson and husband, Dusty, of Anderson; five great grandchildren, Jordan Blecha, Shelby Blecha, Scout Watson, Brooke Blecha and Carli Watson; a brother, James Smith and wife, Molly, of Joplin; a sister, Joan Harnar of Seneca, Missouri; several nieces and nephews; as well as a host of other family and friends.
Funeral services for Mrs. Blecha are 10:00 a.m. Thursday, April 12, 2018, at the United Methodist Church in Southwest City, Missouri, with Pastors Mark Kailbourn and Pam Jackson officiating. Burial will follow in the Southwest City Cemetery. Those honoring her life by serving as pallbearers are Kedron Blecha, Dusty Anderson, Dusty Smith, Lee Smith, Kyle Smith, Dylan Thomas and Kenny Buckner. The family will receive friends on Wednesday evening from 5-7:00 p.m. in the Southwest City Chapel of the Ozark Funeral Homes.
