Betty Jane Woolever, age 81, of Joplin MO, passed away Saturday, April 28th, 2018 at Mercy Hospital.
Betty was born May 15th, 1936 and was raised in Falls City, NE. She was the daughter of the late Wesley and Deva Bell. She worked for the Missouri Department of Revenue for 30 years, retiring in 2000. Betty was loved by everyone that met her, she had a knack for making you feel special and important. She was always spunky, fun and welcoming, never knowing a stranger and always had something to chat about. She was an avid gardener, reader and cook. She loved spending time on her deck, especially with company. She attended Saint Mary’s Catholic Church and had many good friends. Betty was known lovingly by her grandchildren & great-grandchildren by “Grams” and they were the lights of her life.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Bill Woolever and her sister, Bonnie Jo Hullman.
Survivors include her brother, Don Bell and wife Sharon; four children, Jack Woolever and wife Stacey, Annie Bickett and husband Tim, Bill Woolever and Floyd Woolever all of Joplin; nine grandchildren, fifteen great-grandchildren; three great-great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. They will all miss her dearly.
Mass of Christian burial will be10:30 a.m. Friday, at Saint Mary’s Catholic Church, Father Justin Monahan as Celebrant. Rosary will be 6:00 p.m. Thursday, at the Mortuary, with visitation following. Burial will be at Ozark Memorial Park Cemetery.
Memorial contributions may be made to Saint Vincent de Paul.
