Sue Elinore (Fingerle) Taunton, age 77, Joplin, passed away Friday, April 20, 2018.
She was born the daughter of Kermit and Willa Fingerle of Carthage, Missouri. She was a 1959 graduate of Carthage High School, Carthage, Missouri, and a 1968 graduate of Kansas State College of Pittsburg (Pittsburg State University) with a Bachelor of Science in Education. She taught Language Arts (English) at South Junior High School and South Middle School in Joplin, Missouri from autumn, 1968 through May of 1990.
Sue is survived by her husband, Kenneth of the home, a brother and sister-in-law, Bruce and Nancy Fingerle of Texas; a sister-in-law, Marcia (Nathan) Gehman of Florida; plus four nephews and one niece; aunt, Mildred McGrew and numerous cousins spread across the country.
Sue is a born-again follower of Jesus Christ of Nazareth.
She and Kenneth had a wonderful, loving forty-one years of marriage. Both she and Kenneth enjoyed regular bible study and Christian fellowship throughout their marriage and were quick to encourage others to follow Jesus Christ.
Graveside services are planned for Tuesday at 2:00 p.m. in Osborne Memorial Cemetery with Rev. Jeff Martin officiating. No visitation is planned.
