Wilbur D. Roush, age 87, lifelong resident of Joplin, passed away on Saturday, April 21, 2018 at his home surrounded by family.
Wilbur was born November 22, 1930 in Joplin, son of the late Fred C. Roush and Nona A. Sanders Roush. He graduated from Joplin High School, and then served his country in the United States Air Force. He returned to Joplin and married Barbara J. Giles on November 2, 1957. He worked for 34 years with Empire District Electric Company, at the Riverton Plant, retiring in 1992. He enjoyed fishing, especially with his family on Shoal Creek.
In addition to his parents, Wilbur was preceded in death by a son, Russell S. Roush who died December 4, 2011, and six brothers and sisters.
Wilbur is survived by his wife of 60 years, Barbara J. Roush; his son, Randall S. Roush of Joplin; grandchildren, Nathan A. Roush, and Matthew S. Roush; great grandchildren, Cohen Roush, Sophie Roush, and Weston Roush all of Janesville, Wisconsin; several nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Graveside services will be Friday, April 27, 2018 at 1:00 p.m. in Osborne Memorial Cemetery with full Military Honors.
The family will receive friends at Parker Mortuary on Friday from 12:00 noon until 12:30 p.m.
