Thelma LeEtta Emmert, age 83, Carl Junction, passed away Saturday, April 14, 2018 in her home. She was born August 16, 1934 in Diamond, Missouri, the daughter of Phillip and Nadine England.
She spent most of her life in the Joplin area. In May, 1950, she met John Emmert, who was home on furlough from the U.S. Air Force. The two dated for about a year and were married on August 8, 1951 in St. Philips Episcopal Church. Reverend Alfred L. DuDomaine gave them their vows. This union produced three children, John J. Emmert, Gregory D. Emmert and Brenda G. Emmert.
Thelma was a devoted wife and mother. She became an accomplished pilot and did taxes for H & R Block until she retired. She will be dearly missed. May she rest in peace.
She is preceded in death by her parents, and one son, John.
Thelma is survived by her husband, John; one son, Gregory D. Emmert (Suzie) of Jasper, Missouri; one daughter, Brenda Harmon (Randy) of Neosho, Missouri; one brother, Phillip (Butch) England of Joplin, Missouri; six grandchildren and eleven great grand-children.
Graveside services will be held Thursday at 11:00 a.m. in Ozark Memorial Park with Fr. Frank Sierra, officiating. Visitation will be Wednesday from 5:00 – 6:00 p.m. in Parker Mortuary.
Arrangements are under the direction of Parker Mortuary.
