Troy Miller

Troy R. Miller, age 74 of Galena, passed away at Mercy Hospital in Joplin, MO at 12:38 PM on Wednesday, April 11, 2018.

Troy was born in Galena, MO on March 28, 1944 to the union of Charles Franklin Miller and Audrey Jane (Owens) Miller. He graduated from Galena (KS) High School with the Class of 1962.

Troy was a resident of Galena, KS for most of his life. He owned and operated Miller Hauling Service, a career that he retired from in the early 1990’s. He was an ordained minister, and spent many years in service to the Lord at the Spring Grove Apostolic Faith Church in Galena, now Trinity Apostolic Faith. At the church, he had served as a pastor and worship leader, and was also known to share special music frequently. He enjoyed fishing, camping, and music. His favorite hobby was tinkering, and he was able to continue that throughout his entire life up until his final days.

Troy was united in marriage with Marilyn Hope Owens. She preceded him in death in October of 1974. He was then united in marriage with Sandra K. Roach. She preceded him in death in October of 2006. He later married Barbara Gordon at Schifferdecker Park in Joplin, MO in June of 2015. She survives.

Additinoal survivors include three sons, Allen R. Miller (wife, Hattie) of Galena; Franklin B. Miller of Arma, KS; and Raymond J. Miller (wife, Asa) of Joplin , MO; two daughters, Janet C. Trickett (husband, Reyes Gonzalez) of Joplin, and Amanda K. Wilson of Joplin; one brother, Charles L. Miller of Joplin; as well as 21 grandchildren and 19 great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Charles and Audrey; wife, Marilyn Miller; wife, Sandra Miller; one daughter, Marilyn Pickel; and three grandchildren, Christopher R. Pickel, Jacob T. Curry, and Jaden Keller.

Mr. Miller was entrusted to Derfelt Funeral Home of Galena for cremation. The family is holding a memorial service at Trinity Apostolic Faith Church on Monday, April 16, 2018 at 1:00 PM. Private burial of cremains will take place at a later date.

Visitation will take place on Sunday, April 15, 2018 at 3:00 PM at the church.
