James Dewey McNally, Sr., age 50, Joplin, went to be with Jesus on Tuesday, July 01, 2014 in Joplin.
James was born January 26, 1964 in Kansas City, Kansas, son of Joseph Wade and Glenn Shirley McNally.
James first years were spent in Kansas City, and Cole Camp, Missouri. The family moved to Joplin when James was 10 years old.
James was a certified welder, and worked years at his trade, but foremost James was a preacher. He preached his first sermon at age 9. Putting Jesus Christ first in his life was the essence of James. His wisdom in the word far surpassed his age.
He was preceded in death by his "buddy", James Dewey McNally, II who died July 10, 2011.
He is survived by his parents, Joseph Wade and Shirley McNally of Joplin; four brothers, Rick McNally and wife Martha, Tim McNally and wife Marti, Randy McNally, and Phillip McNally all of Joplin; eight nephews, Rick McNally, II and wife Kelly, Joe McNally II, Sean McNally, Randy McNally, II, Dylan McNally, River McNally, Mitch Edwards, and Nick Tuinstra; three nieces, Amanda McNally, Sierra McNally, Sarah Lovett and husband Jeremy; six great-nephews and five great-nieces.
Funeral services will be Monday, July 7, 2014 at 10:00 a.m. in Duenweg Assembly of God with Pastor Bill Hobson officiating. Interment will follow in Osborne Memorial Cemetery, next to his son, with family serving as pallbearers.
The family will receive friends at Parker Mortuary on Sunday from 2:00 to 3:00 p.m.
