Ray L. Elliott, 83, Neosho, died July 1, 2014 at Spring River Christian Village in Joplin, following a short illness.
Ray was born Sept. 18, 1930 in Pryor, OK and moved from Oklahoma to Neosho in 1963. He worked as an agent and telegrapher for the Frisco Railroad for 30 years and then worked for Burlington Northern for 5 years, working a total of 35 years for the railroad. He was a communication officer for the civil defense and deputy sheriff for Newton and McDonald County and a Ham Radio Operator. He is a former member of the Abundant Life Church, where he served as a Deacon and with the van ministry.
Ray married Gladys (Clark) on Sept. 17, 1954 in Holdenville, OK and she survives. He is also survived by a son, Ray E. Elliott and wife, Deborah, Neosho and two grandchildren, Hannah Rae Elliott and Caleb Michael Elliott.
