Blake Aggus

Blake Austin Aggus, 23, died July 18, 2014 at his home in Hollister, Missouri.
He was born September 21, 1990 in Joplin.

Blake’s passion since preschool was soccer. He played throughout his school years eventually playing competitive soccer with Schlotsky’s Blasters in Joplin. He advanced to the Springfield Soccer Club that succeeded in making semifinals 2 years and were Missouri state champions three years in a row. He went on to play collegiate soccer at Wartburg College in Waverly, Iowa. He was decorated with numerous trophies and medals.

Blake lived in Joplin for the majority of his life, graduating from Joplin High School in 2009. He moved to Hollister, Missouri to attend Ozark Technical College while working at Main Street Lake Cruises on Lake Taneycomo at the Landing in Branson, Missouri. He was preparing to move to Springfield, Missouri to pursue a Physical Therapy degree at Missouri State University in Springfield.

He loved boating, fishing, weight lifting, physical training, bike riding, and all outdoor sports and activities.

He was preceded in death by his father, Larry Aggus and grandparents Bob Jennings, Walter Aggus, Sr., and June Aggus.
Survivors include his parents, Teresa and Gary Brown; brother, Tyler Aggus; grandmother, Libby Jennings; 15 cousins and numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, and nephews.

Blake loved his family very much and especially enjoyed being an uncle and playing with the kids. The family and friends he so loved will miss his ability to make them smile.

Visitation will be held from 5 to 8pm Tuesday, July 22, at Thornhill-Dillon Mortuary.
Funeral mass will be held at 10am, Wednesday, July 23, at St. Mary’s Catholic Church
followed by burial at Mt Hope Cemetery.
