Shirley Colleen Miksell Greer, age 79, Joplin, passed away on Thursday, July 17, 2014 at National Health Care in Joplin.
Shirley was born March 3, 1935 in Baxter Springs, Kansas, daughter of the late Robert Coppenbarger and Mazie Vader Coppenbarger. She worked as an elevator operator at the Connor Hotel for years, and then with Newman's Department Store. She later worked for Pacific Mercury Manufacturing, and then retired from Motorola Manufacturing. She volunteered with the Red Cross, and was a member of Bethel Assembly of God.
In addition to her parents, Shirley was preceded in death by two husbands, Lawson Miksell and Sonny Greer; two sons, Ancil and Jimmie Miksell; two brothers, Robert and Danny Coppenbarger.
Survivors include her sons, Keith Miksell and wife Cheryl, and Tracy Greer; daughters, Denise Dale and Charlene Greer all of Joplin; two brothers, a sister, and three 1/2 brothers; grandchild, Shirlene Dale; four great-grandchildren, Brooklyn, James, Laura, and Angie.
Funeral services will be Monday, July 21, 2014 at 10:00 a.m. in Parker Mortuary Chapel with Rev. Orville Garrison officiating. Interment will follow in Osborne Memorial Cemetery.
