Rosetta Williams, age 85 of Leesville, La., passed away early Wednesday, July 9, 2014 at Byrd Memorial Hospital in Leesville following an illness.
Rosetta was born on November 8, 1928 in Council Grove, Ks., the daughter of Ulysses and Pearl (Wyatt) Ellis. She spent most of her days as a homemaker, she moved to Leesville from Tonganoxie, Ks in 2007, where she lived with her son for 6 years, 9 months, 22 days and 58 minutes until her passing. Rosetta was a member of the Walnut Hill Pentecostal Church in Leesville. She married Louis R. Williams, Sr.; he preceded her in death on June 3, 1976.
Survivors include 1 daughter; Janielee Kenney of Lawrence, Ks., 3 sons; Gerald L. Williams of Leesville, Louis R. Williams, Jr. of Topeka, Ks., Danney J. Williams also of Topeka, 1 sister; Dorothy Brady, 7 grandchildren, 8 great-grandchilden, 3 step-great-grandchildren and 1 great-great-grandchild. Rosetta was also preceded in death by her parents, 2 brothers; Jack and Edgar Ellis, 3 sisters; Ruth Garoutte, Mary Emery and Ida Mae, 1 grandchild and 1 great-grandchild.
Funeral services have been scheduled for 10:00 a.m. Monday, July 14, 2014 at the Mason-Woodard Chapel with Reverend Ron Richey, officiating. Burial will follow at Neosho Memorial Park Cemetery in Neosho, Mo.
Arrangements have been entrusted to Mason-Woodard Mortuary & Crematory.
