Larry Max Harper, age 68 of Joplin, passed away Saturday, July 05, 2014 at his residence.
Larry was born March 17, 1946 to the late Posey and Ora Ary Harper in Thayer, Missouri. He grew up in Thayer and graduated from Thayer High School. After school, Larry served our country during the Vietnam War with the United States Army. Larry worked for Crossland construction. He was a member of N.A.M.I., an organization helping those with mental disorders and a part of the VFW of Thayer.
On May 9, 1970, Larry married Diana Cain Harper in Mammoth Springs, Arkansas. She survives of the home.
Additional survivors include one son, Larry Brian Harper of the home; daughter, Susan McWilliams and husband Paul of Owassa, Oklahoma; grandsons, Casen and Riley Cox; brothers, James Harper and wife Sharon of Thayer, Jerry Harper and wife Anita of Thayer; mother in-law, Marilyn Parker of Mt. Home, Arkansas; numerous nieces, nephews and extended family and friends that will miss Larry.
He is preceded in death by his parents; one brother, Joe Harper and a sister, Jan Houts.
Services will be at a later date in Thayer, Missouri. Memorial contribution can be made to N.A.M.I. in care of the mortuary.
Cremation arrangements are under the direction of Parker Mortuary, Joplin, Missouri.
