Louise McCully, age 86, of Monett, MO, passed away on Thursday, July 17, 2014, while at the Lacoba Nursing Home in Monett.
Louise was born on August 12, 1927 in Versailles, IL, daughter of the late Alvin and Cora (Pitts) Bradley.
Louise was self-employed most of her life, operating M & M Upholstery and Home Town Outlet in Monett. She loved the Lord and enjoyed traveling with her husband Jim to pastor at many churches and revivals. Louise was a long time member of the First Free Will Baptist Church of Monett. She dearly loved her church family. Her hobby was oil painting and enjoyed taking art classes with her friends.
On March 12, 1943 in Monett, Louise and Reverend James McCully were united in marriage. They were blessed with over fifty-nine years together before his passing on January 22, 2003. Louise was also preceded in death by two grandchildren, Brooke and Matthew McCully; and one sister, Fran Moudy.
Survivors include five sons, Jim McCully and Faye, of Frankston, TX, Rodney McCully and Gail, of Monett, Rick McCully and Beth, of Neosho, MO, Steve McCully and Ann, of Monett and Scott McCully and Leah, of Joplin, MO; one daughter, Brenda Davis and John, of Richland, MO; seventeen grandchildren; twenty great-grandchildren; as well as a host of extended family and friends.
Funeral services for Mrs. McCully will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Monday, July 21, 2014 at the First Free Will Baptist Church, Monett. Reverend Ken Dodson will be officiating. Interment will be in the I.O.O.F. Cemetery, Monett. Visitation will be from 6-8:00 p.m. Sunday evening at the church. Memorial contributions can be made to the church in care of the funeral home. Arrangements have been entrusted to Buchanan Funeral Home, 301 Euclid Ave, Monett, MO.
