Thomas E. Carter, 63, of Kansas City, MO passed away July 16, 2014 surrounded by his family & friends after a brave two year battle with cancer. Visitation from 6:30-8:30pm Monday, July 21st at the McGilley & Sheil Chapel. Cremation.
Tom was born March 1, 1951 in Kansas City, MO to Bletch 'Jack' & Norma Carter. He graduated from Van Horn High School in 1969 & was a member of the US Air Force Reserve. Tom was an Engineer for over 30 years with the Kansas City Southern RR; retiring in 2012. He was an avid Royals fan & played softball. Tom was a music lover & a huge Beatles fan.
Tom was preceded in death by his parents and is survived by a son, Derek Carter; a daughter, Kristin Carter; brothers, William (Peggy), Doug (Marge) & Bruce (Leslie); sister, Lela Mead; two nieces; one nephew; a great-nephew & best friends, Ralph Wyrick & Kim Rhoades.
