Elizabeth Ann Ford, age 59, of Joplin, passed away on Sunday July 27, 2014, at her home, following an illness.
Elizabeth was born on June 7, 1955 in Joplin, the daughter of Albert and Hulda (Quade) Hamm. She has been a lifetime area resident. She graduated from Parkwood High School in 1973 and from MSSU with a Bachelors in Biology in 1977. She worked as a Graphic Designer at MSSU for fifteen years and previously at Freeman and Oak Hill Hospitals. She was a lifetime member of Immanuel Lutheran Church. She loved working outdoors, bird watching, hiking, photography, and was a talented artist. She was an avid dog lover and owner.
She is survived by her daughter, Emily Nichole Lansford and husband Matt, Joplin; her granddaughter, Katherine Elizabeth Lansford; three brothers, William Hamm and wife Linda of Anchorage, Alaska, David Hamm and wife Paula of Denver, Co., and Don Hamm and wife Becky of White, South Dakota; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, a brother, Robert Hamm, and one sister, Barbara Hamm. Elizabeth was very excited to be a grandmother to Katherine. She was a loving mother to Emily and son-in-law Matt. She was known for her great sense of humor and will be greatly missed.
Funeral services will be 11:00 a.m. Thursday at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Joplin. Reverend Lowell Rossow will officiate. Graveside services will follow at 3 p.m. at Trinity Lutheran Cemetery in Freistatt, Mo. The pallbearers will be David Hamm, Don Hamm, Matt Lansford, Jim Quade, Daniel Quade and Johnny Quade. The family will receive friends 6-7 p.m. Wednesday at Mason-Woodard Mortuary. Memorial contributions may be made to George Washington Carver National Monument in care of the Mortuary.
