Donna Guodace

(From Parker Mortuary)

Donna Jean Guodace, age 76, of Joplin passed away peacefully on Thursday, December 1, 2022, in Westgate at Wildwood Ranch in Joplin.

Donna was born on February 5, 1946, in Peoria, IL and was raised by Wayne and Evelyn Jackson.

She was united in marriage to the love of her life, Francis Paul Guodace and together they enjoyed over 43 years of marriage. Some of their happiest times were spent together at Table Rock Lake surrounded by friends and family.

Donna was the definition of love, strength, and perseverance. She was a courageous and determined breast cancer survivor, having battled, and won the fight, even after the loss of her husband in 2012. Donna was a nurturing and extraordinary wife, mother, and grandmother. Her family was her greatest joy. Her passion was cooking, and the kitchen was her domain.

As the matriarch of the family, her kitchen and her cooking were always filled with love. She knew food brought people together and united her family and friends. Her family takes comfort in knowing that she has joined her beloved husband, Frank, in heaven.

Survivors include her children, Lynda Shreve, and her husband, Scott, of Lee’s Summit, Brian “Gus” Guodace, and his wife, Megan, of Joplin, and Michael Guodace, and his wife, Shelby, of Ozawkie, KS; her adored grandchildren, Derek Shreve, Conner Shreve, Ethan Guodace, Easton Murdock, Gabrielle Guodace, Gage Guodace, Lucas Guodace, and Kora Guodace; along with numerous extended family members and friends.

The family will receive friends for a time of visitation on Monday, December 12th beginning at 5:00 PM until 7:00 PM at Thornhill-Dillon Mortuary. Celebration of Life services will be held on Tuesday, December 13, 2022, at 11:00 AM at Thornhill-Dillon Mortuary in Joplin with a private family burial to take place at a later date.

Arrangements are under the personal care and direction of Parker Mortuary, Joplin.
