(From Mason-Woodard Mortuary)Lucy Grebe, age 86, of Joplin, passed away on Friday November 25, 2022, at Joplin Health & Rehab, following a long-fulfilled life.
Lucy was born on December 2, 1935, in Murphysboro, IL, the daughter of the late William Ross and Mary Catherine (Robinson) Childers. She married Jack Grebe on July 31, 1954, in Festus, MO. Together they were blessed with three children. They made their home in Joplin in 1971.
Lucy began her career as nursing technician for the OBGYN clinic in Joplin. She was an accomplished decorative painter.
She is survived by her husband Jack Grebe, Joplin, of sixty-eight years; two daughters, Vicki Brasuell and husband Randy, Ft. Scott, KS, and Becky Long, Commerce, OK; one son, Lonnie Grebe and wife Diana, Joplin, MO; one brother, Bill Childers, Tyler, TX; nine grandchildren and fourteen great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by two brothers, Henry Childers and Jackie Childers and her eldest grandson Brad Long.
A Memorial Service will be held 11:00 a.m. Thursday, December 8, 2022, at Mason-Woodard Chapel. Mark Carpenter, her cousin, will officiate.
Arrangements are under the direction of Mason-Woodard Mortuary & Crematory.
