(From Ulmer Funeral Home)Reggie Glen Hibdon, 81, of Carthage, MO, passed away on Monday, December 12, 2022, after a brief illness. Reggie was born on August 18, 1941, in Perris, CA, to Olen Oliver Hibdon and Hope Geraldine (Lamb) Hibdon.
On November 20, 1959, in Garden Grove, CA, Reggie married the love of his life, Geniva Jearldine “Jeri” Maynard, and together, they raised four children. She preceded him in death on October 19, 2021, after nearly 62 years of marriage.
Reggie and his family, moved to Carthage in 1967 from Garden Grove, CA. He worked for Leggett and Platt Branch #1, as the Maintenance Superintendent, where he retired after 38 years. He was a longtime member of Grace Pointe Assembly and Evangel Assembly, and he was currently a member of Crossroads Baptist Church. Reggie had lots of fond memories of his childhood, growing up on his dad’s ranch near Riverside, CA.
He enjoyed fishing when he had time and tinkering in his shop; he could fix anything. He was the proud owner of a new 1965 Chevy pickup truck, which he still owned, but the thing that brought him the greatest joy was spending time with his family. Reggie was a wonderful man, and a great role model.
He is survived by one son, Roger Hibdon (Catherine), of Carthage, MO; three daughters, Deletta Cummins (Bob), of Carthage, MO, Deanne Scott (Randy) of Carthage, MO, and Denise Daniel (Craig), of Diamond, MO; three brothers, Ron Hibdon of Las Vegas, NV, Jim Hibdon of Eugene, Oregon, and Russell Hibdon of Yakima, WA; one sister, Rita Boyd of Neosho, MO, and one half-brothers Mark Hibdon; grandchildren, Brooke Robinson (Matt), Brittiany Nixon (Michael), Blair Dance (Brett), Brynn Skaggs (Brock), Kyler Scott (Lauren), Kayley DeLeon (David), Gerardo Mojica, Ashlyn Daniel and Aspen, Daniel, as well 19 great-grandchildren.
Reggie was preceded in death by his wife, Jeri Hibdon; his parents, Olen Hibdon and Hope Hibdon; three brothers, Robert Hibdon, Olen Hibdon Jr, and Doug Hibdon; one half-brother, Mike Hibdon; two granddaughters, Alyssa Daniel and Brandi Mojica; and one great-grandson, Archer Lambeth.
A funeral service for Reggie is scheduled for 1:00 PM on Saturday, December 17, 2022, at Crossroads Baptist Church, Carthage. A private family burial will be at the Jasper School Cemetery following the funeral service. There will be no formal visitation, but friends can pay their respects and sign the book from 9:00 AM to 4:00 PM on Friday, December 16, 2022, at Ulmer Funeral Home in Carthage.
