(From Knell Mortuary)Carolyn Sue Perry Beck, 83, Carthage, Missouri, passed away, Wednesday, February 8, 2023. Carolyn was born January 14, 1940, in Picher, Oklahoma to James and Mary Jane Perry (Cunningham).
The family moved to Carthage a few years after her birth. Carolyn attended Eugene Field, graduating from Carthage High School in May 1938.
She married her high school sweetheart, Jack Beck, January 7, 1960.
Carolyn worked for the Beck Casket Company until its closure, and then worked for Bank of Carthage. She and Jack moved with his work to Florida in 1989 returning to the Ozarks after Jack retired in 2004, where they lived in Belle Vista, Arkansas until Jack's passing November 10, 2015. Carolyn then moved back to Carthage to be closer to family and lifelong friends. She was a member of Fairview Christian Church, Carthage, MO, and the Carthage PEO. She enjoyed golf and volunteering at the Carthage Crisis Center.
She is preceded in death by her loving husband of nearly 56 years, Daniel Jackson Beck; her parents, James, and Mary Jane; stepfather, Virgil Cunningham; sister and brother-in-law, Jacque, and Richard Hewes.

Survivors include son, Daniel Jakson Beck II (Lana) of Carthage; daughter, Mary Elizabeth Swinicki (Kevin) of Wichita, KS; grandchildren, Kyle Jackson Swinicki (Kylie) of Omaha, NE, Sara Beck of Kansas City, Madalyn Paige Winter (Wade) of Wichita, KS, Sabrina Beck of Joplin, and Caden Swinicki of Wichita, KS; great-grandchildren, Lennon Rae Swinicki, Harrison Jackson Swinicki of Omaha, NE, and Baby Winter soon to be born; siblings, Jerry Perry (Nancy), and Phyllis (Dennis) Jacques; sister in-law, Ann Beck-Cornell; niece and nephew, Debbie Scott, and Mark Williams (Stephanie); four step grandchildren, Adam Williams (Nikki), Brittany Garrett (Josh), Chad Williams (Samantha), Jerrick Williams (Emma), and nine step great-grandchildren.
She will be missed by her family and friends, new and old. The family wishes to give special thanks to Maple Tree Assisted Living nurses and staff and her Gentiva Hospice caregivers.
Funeral services will be held at 11 am, Saturday, February 11, 2023, at Knell Mortuary, Carthage. The family will receive friends from 4-6 pm, Friday, February 10, 2023, at Knell Mortuary.
