Anna Fortner

Anna Elizabeth (French) Fortner went to meet the Lord on July 2, 2016. 

She was born in Dawson Springs, Kentucky on July 18, 1927 and was 88 years old. Anna married Farris D. Fortner on June 3, 1951 and they were together until his passing in 2013. Anna taught elementary school, high school English, elementary and high school vocal music and was a band director. She loved collecting interesting antique books and leading people to Christ. Anna was a member of Gideon’s International, Daughters of the American Revolution and Calvary Baptist Church. 

 Anna was preceded in death by an infant daughter, Doris Jean Fortner; her husband, Farris D. Fortner and two brothers, George French and William French. She is survived by her sister, Janet French Webb of Princeton, KY; three children, Janet Fortner Dyer of Houston, MO; F. David Fortner of Sullivan, MO and George Fortner of Neosho, MO; four grandchildren, Brian Dyer, Laura Dyer Stitt, Angela Blaxton and Aimee Stinnett and eleven great grandchildren. 
 
Services are under the direction of Clark Funeral Home, Neosho, MO.
