Georgia Faynell Heckmaster, age 86 of Diamond, Mo., passed away on Sunday, July 10, 2016 at the Joplin Gardens Care Center following an illness.
Faynell was born on April 16, 1930 in Carthage, Mo., the daughter of George and Della (Duke) Mikesell. She has been a lifetime area resident, Faynell worked as a nurse’s aide at both Freeman and Oak Hill Hospitals, retiring in 1980. She loved spending time with her family.
She married Ed Heckmaster on December 23, 1950, he preceded her in death on May 20, 2004. Faynell was also preceded by her parents, six brothers and four sisters. Survivors include two sons; Ed Heckmaster and wife Kathy of Diamond, Steve Heckmaster and wife Diana of Joplin, Mo., two daughters; Rita Carrick and husband Jiggs of Diamond, Melody McCutcheon and husband Wayne of Diamond, eleven grandchildren and sixteen great-grandchildren.
Graveside services have been scheduled for 10:00 a.m. Friday, July 15, 2016, at Stone Cemetery near Diamond. Robert Hendricks, Minister, will officiate. The family will receive friends during a time of visitation on Thursday evening from 6 to 7 p.m.
Arrangements have been entrusted to Mason-Woodard Mortuary & Crematory.
