Fred Carver joined his beloved wife, Wanda, in heaven on Saturday, July 9, 2016 while residing at St. Luke’s Nursing Home in Carthage, MO. He was preceded in death by Wanda, son, Ricky “Bumper” Carver, Brothers: Leo Carver, Hubert Young, Orville Young and Clyde Young. Sister: Leila Cummings.
He is survived by brothers Tom Carver and Clarence Young, and sister Myra. Also surviving are children: John Carver and Susan (Jim) Boulware. Grandchildren: Jon and Shelley Clifford, David and Alyson Clifford, Michael and Kathleen Clifford, Eric and Katy Carver, Ashley and Tony Missavage, Tonee Boulware. Great-Grandchildren: Colin and Cameron Clifford, Logan and Nathan Clifford, Celeste and McKayla Clifford, Adam and Addison Carver, Caspian Harding, Peyton Sharp, Jensen Sharp and Dillon Sutton.
Fred was born on February 17, 1926 in Treece, KS to Walter Carver and Mae Roney Carver. He was raised near Walnut Grove and Bolivar, MO. He joined the Army and was a member of the 82nd Airborne Brigade. He was a paratrooper and jumped behind enemy lines in France and Germany. During World War II he was awarded two bronze stars for his bravery.
Graveside services will be held Friday, July 15, 2016 at 2:00 at Carterville, MO cemetery.
