David R. Crane, 71 of Joplin, went to his heavenly home on Saturday, July 9, 2016 at Freeman Hospital, Joplin following a short illness.
David was born December 10, 1944 in Norfolk, Nebraska to the late Bradford Crane and Esther Stirk Crane. After high school, David graduated from Ozark Christian College in Joplin with a Bachelors degree in Biblical Literature. He pastored for 30 years in the states of Missouri, Nebraska and Oklahoma. David loved agriculture, especially the antique tractors and farm machine shows. He was a talented wood worker. His children and grandchildren were his pride and joy and he will be greatly missed by all who knew him.
Survivors include his wife, Denise Thurstenson Crane, whom he married August 21, 1965 in Norfolk; daughters, Laura and Tara Crane of Joplin; sons, Scott Crane and wife, Tammy of Joplin and William Crane and wife, Lara Crane of Oronogo; grandchildren, Heather Bryan, Emily, Hannah, Hailey and Stephen Crane, Matthew and Andrew Hutchison; great grandchildren, Kyler Grubb, Ryan and Caitlin Hutchison; sisters, Margaret Schmidt of South Dakota, Catherine McMurtry of Nebraska; brothers, George Crane of California, Robert Crane of Texas and Roger Crane of Idaho.
A memorial service is planned for Saturday, July 16 at 2:00 p.m. at Villa Heights Christian Church in Joplin with Truman Brady officiating.
Cremation arrangements are under the direction of Parker Mortuary, Joplin, Missouri.
