Francis Horine

Frances Orilla (Enlund) Horine, age 86 of Joplin, passed away in her sleep on Friday, July 15, 2016, following a three month illness. She was born November 3, 1929 in Chisholm, Minnesota to Harvey Isaac Enlund and Frances Belle (Parks) Enlund. Her family later moved to the California Mojave Desert, where she graduated from Tehachapi Valley Union High School. She married Robert Harold Horine on December 25, 1949 in Monolith, CA; he passed away in July 2003. Their son Bradley was born in Los Angeles in 1961. The family moved to Joplin in 1963, where their son Alva Craig was born in 1964.

Frances retired as an admitting clerk from St. John’s Hospital in Joplin. She enjoyed retirement, spending time with her sons and their families. She loved her family; her cats; her Merlot; her Starbucks Coffee; and her Hallmark Movie Channel.

She is preceded in death by her parents; stepmother "Babe" Jane Nagelesen; husband Robert Horine; brother-in-law Franklin Stamm; sister Barbara Ann Nesbit and brother-in-law Jack M Nesbit; brother-in-law Alva Devers Horine Jr.; brother-in-law Gerald F Horine; sister-in-law Rayma Fern Hance; daughter-in-law Lisa Ann Horine; niece Vicki Nesbit; niece Vallorrie Parker; nephew Kelly Horine.

Frances is survived by her son Bradley Lawrence Horine of Carrollton, Texas; son Alva Craig Horine, daughter-in-law Sarah Horine, grandson Zachary Craig Horine, and granddaughter Emily Morgan Horine, of Seneca, MO; sister Mary "Bette" Stamm of Sedona, Arizona; sister-in-law Maxine Horine of Joplin; sister-in-law Margaret Horine of Joplin; sister-in-law Lela Mae White and husband Harry White of Raytown, MO; brother-in-law Bill Hance of Carl Junction, MO; nephew Mike Stamm of Salt Lake City, Utah; niece Karen Yeamans and husband Dr. Robert Yeamans of Sedona, AZ; nephew John Nesbit and wife Peggy Nesbit of Brookings, Oregon; nephew Eric Parker of San Jose, CA; niece Leslie Scatena of Austin, TX; niece Jodi Mulder and husband Eddie Mulder of Juniper Hills, CA; and countless other nieces, nephews, and friends.

Visitation will be held at Parker Mortuary at 2:00 Saturday, July 23rd. Memorial service will immediately follow at 3:00. Frances' wish was for her ashes to be scattered in the Pacific Ocean.

Memorial contributions to the Joplin Humane Society may be made in care of Parker Mortuary.
