Gladys Joeann Smith, age 71, Joplin, passed away at 11:55 p.m. Tuesday, July 12, 2016 after an illness.
Gladys was born October 22, 1944 in Wyandotte, Oklahoma to the late Earnest Paul Smith and Frances Wyrick Smith and had lived in the Joplin area all of her life.
She worked as a waitress at the former Connor Hotel in Joplin for over 20 years. She will be missed by all that knew her.
Survivors include two sisters, Alice Buttram and Jean Blaylock, both of Joplin and many nieces and nephews.
Services are planned for Monday, July 18 at 10:00 a.m. at Hornet Pentecostal Holiness Church south of Joplin. Burial to follow at Hornet Cemetery. Family will receive friends on Sunday from 5-6:00 p.m. at the mortuary.
Arrangements are under the direction of Parker Mortuary.
