Bob Davis

Mr. Robert Paul “Bob” Davis, 84, of Stella, Missouri, departed this life on Sunday evening, July 10, 2016, at his residence, after a lengthy battle with cancer.

Bob entered this life on August 3, 1931, in Sublette, Kansas, son of the late Paul and Bessie (Fitts) Davis. His formative years were spent on the family farm near Sublette. He graduated from Colorado State University with a Bachelors Degree in Animal Husbandry. On June 18, 1957, he was united in marriage to Carolyn M. Lobmeyer and to this union five sons and two daughters were born. Bob was a cattle and poultry farmer throughout his life. In 1960, Bob and Carolyn purchased their farm in rural McDonald County near Stella. He was a Veteran of the United States Navy, serving in Korea and was a longtime member of Nativity of Our Lord Catholic Church in Noel, Missouri.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife of thirty-nine years, Carolyn Davis on February 3, 1997; and two brothers, Richard and Phil Davis.

Bob is survived by his five sons, Tom Davis and wife, Debra, of Stella, Jerry Davis and wife, Teresa, of Stella, Dan Davis and wife, Dina, of Springfield, Missouri, Terry Davis and wife, Fay, of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma and Phil Davis also of Springfield; two daughters, Winifred Thomas of Park City, Utah and Liz Gent and husband, Aaron, of Pineville, Missouri; several grandchildren and great grandchildren; two sisters, Joyce Davis of Dodge City, Kansas and Joan Lavelett of Peyton, Colorado; several nieces and nephews; as well as a host of other family and friends.

Funeral Mass for Mr. Davis will be held on Tuesday, July 19, 2016 at 10:00 a.m. at the Nativity of Our Lord Catholic Church in Noel, Missouri with Father Derek Swanson officiating. Burial will follow in the Union Cemetery near Stella, Missouri. Those honoring his life by serving as pallbearers are T.J. Davis, Christopher Davis, Michael Miller, Jerome Davis, Paul Davis, Robert Miller, Cameron Miller, Tanner Davis, Burke Thomas and Traven Thomas. A Rosary will be recited on Monday evening at 6:00 p.m. in the Anderson Chapel of the Ozark Funeral Homes with visitation to follow until 8:00 p.m. Memorials are being directed to the McDonald Schools Foundation and contributions may be left at the funeral home.
