Orsola Franklin

Orsola Jean Preloran Franklin, age 88, of Webb City, Missouri, passed away at her home on Sunday, July 17, 2016 following a decline in health.

She was born February 23, 1928 in Bingham Canyon, Utah, to John and Rose (Togliatti) Preloran.

Orsola graduated from Bingham Canyon High School. She worked for the Shirt Factory and the Shoe Factory and was a nurse’s aide at McCune Brooks Hospital. She obtained her LPN Degree from Franklin Technical School in 1973 and worked for St. Luke’s Nursing Home and for Oak Hill Hospital. She was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.

She married Oscar Alvin Franklin on December 10, 1950, in Tonapah, Nevada and he preceded her in death on November 1, 2006.

Orsola is survived by two daughters, Debra Bybee and husband, Michael, of Joplin, Missouri, and Lona Davis and husband, Joe, of Atlanta, Georgia; two sons, Randall Franklin and wife, Lena, of Carterville, Missouri, and Lee Franklin and wife, Rhonda, of Webb City, Missouri; nine grandchildren, Ashlee Bechdoldt and husband, Rodney, of Bentonville, Arkansas, Christopher Bybee of Fayetteville, Arkansas, Shannon Franklin and wife, Melissa, Misty Holland and husband, Clint, all of Joplin, Missouri, Joshua Franklin and wife, Heather, of Sycamore, Illinois, Megan Funk and husband, Justin, of Shorewood, Illinois, Jacob Johnston and wife, Melinda, of Parsons, Kansas, Matthew Johnston of Webb City, Missouri, and Rachel Cottone of Atlanta, Georgia; and nine great-grandchildren, Kailee Bechdoldt, Brooklyn Bechdoldt, Lincoln Bechdoldt, Cody Price, Courtney Franklin, Crew Holland, Gabriella Franklin, Hannah Funk and Brayden Johnston.

Those gentlemen honoring her life by serving as pallbearers were, Shannon Franklin, Joshua Franklin, Clint Holland, Jake Johnston, Matt Johnston, and Christopher Bybee

Graveside services were held. Friday, July 22, 2016 at the Mt. Hope Cemetery with Bishop Brandon Crockett officiating.
